An Atlantic City man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a teen last week.
Rahsaad Norwood, 21, is jailed on charges of murder and weapons offenses in the killing of a 17-year-old Thursday, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said.
While the Prosecutor's Office has not named the victim, BreakingAC has confirmed he was Michael Shaheed McLaughlin.
The shooting happened before noon just a block from City Hall.
“This was a senseless crime committed in broad daylight," Tyner said. "A 21-year-old killing a 17-year-old has cost society two lives. The loss of human capital from unnecessary gun violence should have everyone in our community outraged.”
Norwood will have a first appearance in Atlantic County Superior Court on Monday. A detention hearing will be scheduled for later in the week.
