Teen shot in Atlantic City dies from injuries

  • News

A 15-year-old is now charged with murder after the 16-year-old he allegedly shot died.
Quran Bazemore died Tuesday at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, where his family has been gathered since he was shot in Atlantic City on June 16.
The alleged shooter was arrested four days later, and charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses. The teen, whose name is being withheld due to his age, remains in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center now charged with murder.
“Gun violence is a tragic reality in our society. However, when it affects our youth we sustain an incalculable loss of human potential," Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. "My only question is: When will someone from our community stand up enough to give a damn?”
Bazemore's uncle started a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the family, many of whom took off work to be at the teen's side.
The shooting happened on his mother's birthday.
