Stabbing at Atlantic City event won’t deter hosts from positive focus
An Atlantic City event meant to be a celebration for residents ended with a man stabbed early Sunday morning.
But the last moments of the 3rd Annual All White Affair will not deter the organizers, who say they are focused on bringing positivity to the city.
“Our parties are only to provide people to have fun and bring love to the town,” Frank Turner told BreakingAC of the party hosted by LS4/Les Sourires, which he runs with his cousin Kamau Johnson.
All White events are popular in the city during the summer, requiring guests to dress in white.
It was advertised as a 21-and-over event for “beautiful people, great music with positive vibes,” an ad for the event read.
The All White Affair was supposed to run until 3 a.m., but at some point fighting broke out, according to videos captured by some in attendance.
Police were called to the Claridge’s main ballroom at about 2:40 a.m., and found a 24-year-old city man had been stabbed.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus.
He was doing well, a family member told BreakingAC.
Turner posted about the event Sunday on Facebook, thanking people for support and expressing disappointment “that the party ended the way it did IN THE LAST MINUTES.”
“Atlantic City showed last night that good things are on the way and that we will come together sooner than later,” Turner told BreakingAC.
Turner and Johnson still plan their backpack drive for kids, which always follows their All White event. A date is not yet set.
“Our mission is to continue bridging the gap and restoring the LOVE within the town,” Turner wrote. “And it will remain the mission.”
