Two Atlantic City men allegedly pistol-whipped a 66-year-old man Tuesday, police said.Officers were called to the first block of South Bellevue Avenue just before 8 p.m. for the report of a man assaulted with a handgun, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.They found the victim with a head injury, according to the report.The man told police he was attacked after being confronted regarding an earlier police call to the same location, Fair said. No details were given about the earlier call.Officer Richard Link, who reponded to that earlier call, came to the scene after hearing a description of the suspects, Fair said.Link interacted with the two men during the earlier call, and knew who they were, according to the report.Suspects Khalil Swain and Shawn Harris were found inside a residence on that block and arrested.The victim was treated at the scene.Harris, 37, and Swain, 29, were charged with aggravated assault, unalwful possesion of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession by a convicted felon and conspiracy.
Harris previously served a five-year prison sentence for weapon possession, court records show. He was released Oct. 1.Swain was additionally charged with a contempt of court warrant.Both were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
