Atlantic County has new COVID-19 recoveries, no new deaths

  • News

Atlantic County listed 218 newly confirmed recoveries from COVID-19 over the past three days with no news deaths for the past four.
Of the 3,966 confirmed cases, 2,689, or nearly 68 percent, are now listed as recovered.
Public health officials highlighted the positive advances in the county, with deaths significantly down.
There have been four reported since Aug. 2, with the two most recent reported Wednesday: a 60-year-old Margate man and 71-year-old Galloway Township man, both with underlying conditions. There have been 245 deaths.
There have been 70 newly confirmed cases in the county over the past six days, including 22 in Hamilton Township, and nine each in Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township.
Galloway Township had eight new cases, Hammonton had five, Pleasantville four, Buena Borough three, and two each in Absecon and Brigantine.
Northfield, Linwood, Ventnor, Somers Point, Egg Harbor City and Margate each had one newly confirmed case.
Atlantic County continues its drive-thru testing from 9 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday through Sept. 29. The only exception is Labor Day week, when the testing day will be Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The testing is behind the county Public Works yard at Route 9 and Dolphin Avenue in Northfield.
Appointments can be made online at www.aclink.org.
If someone can't make their appointment, they are asked to cancel before 24 hours to allow that spot to be filled by someone else.
A list of additional testing locations in Atlantic County is available at: https://www.atlantic-county.org/covid/additional-testing-locations.asp

Health officials urge residents to continue to remain vigilant to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19. This includes wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing and avoiding crowds, washing hands frequently and sanitizing common-touch areas, and answering the call if contacted by contact tracers.
