Absecon police looking for residents to register security cameras

  • News

Absecon police are looking for residents willing to share their camera footage in case of crime.
The Community Camera Registration Program lets residents and businesses register their address as a location operating a security camera system.
The program "offers an opportunity for citizens to partner with us to allow for the quick identification of possible locations where video evidence may be present following a crime," police said.
It's strictly voluntary and does not allow police to access footage directly.
"Our goal is to empower residents by taking a community-wide approach to policing," the announcement said.
Those who wish to register can fill out the form below, and send it to the Absecon Police Department in person or email it to ngalletta@abseconpd.org.
For more information, email the above address or call Patrolman Neal Galletta at 609-0667, ext. 857.
