Atlantic City man allegedly stabbed two, kicked officer and hospital worker

An Atlantic City man is under police watch in the hospital after he allegedly stabbed two people and then attacked police and medical personnel.
Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 2600 block Pacific Avenue at 2:17 a.m. Sunday, and found a 32-year-old man running from the building with a stab wound, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
On the third floor they found a 65-year-old woman who also was stabbed.
Neither victim’s injury was considered life-threatening.
Officer William Luengas-Gonzalez found the suspect, Brian Jackson, inside the building.
Jackson, who also goes by Abdulwali Abdullah, then kicked the officer multiple times as he was being arrested, Fair said.
He was then taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he allegedly kicked a member of the medical staff in the chest.
An investigation found that Abdullah was stabbing the woman when the man came to her aid, Fair said.
A man then struck Abdullah in the head with a fire extinguisher, which stopped the attacks.
Abdullah, 52, was also found in possession of cocaine and narcotic paraphernalia, according to the charges.
He is charged with two count of aggravated assault, along with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of CDS, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, aggravated assault on a police officer and aggravated assault on medical personnel.
Abdullah is under police guard at the medical center for an unrelated medical condition, Fair said.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Information can be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
