Atlantic City police are investigating after an Atlantic City man was found dead hanging in a tree.
Police were called to the area of New Hampshire and Melrose Avenue at 2:42 p.m., Lt. Kevin Fair said.
The 21-year-old man was found dead, hanging in a tree at Oscar E. McClinton Waterfront Park.
Fire Chief Scott Evans said his firefighters were called to assist with removing the body, which was about 12 feet up.
Preliminary reports indicate it was a suicide.
The man’s body was taken to the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed.
Fair said the death is not believed to be suspicious but that the death investigation will continue until a manner of death is determined.
