A man has been arrested in Puerto Rico in a deadly Atlantic City shooting.
Frank Torres-Lopez, 25, is accused of shooting Juan Matute-Figueroa early Aug. 1.
Detectives from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit were called to the area of California and Arctic Avenues just after 3 a.m., and found Matute-Figueroa, 42, dead.
The cooperative investigation included Cumberland County, Texas and Puerto Rico, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said.
"I thank and commend the investigators of the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and all of our law enforcement partners for the work they have completed on this investigation and for their swift action in the apprehension of Frank Torres-Lopez that has resulted in these murder and weapons charges,” Shill said.
Torres-Lopes was arrested Wednesday. He will be extradited to Atlantic County, where he will have a detention hearing at a later date.
