Seven indicted in three separate Atlantic County drug cases

Seven people were indicted in three separate Atlantic County drug cases this week, acting county Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.
The arrests included the recovery of three handguns, 19,700 bags of heroin, 210 folds of fentanyl, more than 11 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 16 grams of cocaine and more than $11,000 in cash.

Emery Chapman, 42, of Pleasantville, allegedly led a drug-trafficking network that resulted in four arrests June 1, 2020.
Theresa Lockhart sold heroin to an undercover officer multiple times in January and February of that year, for a total of more than five ounces of heroin, Shill said.
Chapman would set up the transactions, direct payment and schedule pick up from his supplier in Philadelphia, according to an investigation initiated by the Liberty Mid-Atlantic HIDTA Task Force.
In addition to Lockhart, Chapman allegedly worked with Ebony Chapman, 41, of Absecon, and Tennille Lee, 44, of Atlantic City.
All four were indicted on charges of first-degree possession with intent to distribute more than five ounces of heroin, conspiracy and heroin possession.
Emery Chapman was additionally charged with first-degree leader of a drug-trafficking network.
Lockhart, 20, of Millville, also faces three counts of second-degree distribution of a half-ounce or more of heroin.

Another task force-initiated investigation led to drugs, guns and two arrests after a search of two Atlantic City residences March 11 of this year.
Malita Scarlett's Madison Hotel room and Alicia Gilliard's apartment in the Lighthouse Plaza were searched the same day.
In 34-year-old Gilliard's bedroom police recovered three handguns, 50 wax folds of heroin, more than five ounces of crystal methamphetamine and $11,000, Shill said.
Scarlett, 31, was allegedly had 27 grams of crystal meth, 16 grams of cocaine and 210 wax folds of fentanyl on her at the Madison.
Both residences are within 500 feet of a public park, adding another charge to each.
Both were indicted on first-degree charges of possession with intent to distribute more than five ounces of crystal methamphetamine, third-degree money laundering and three counts of possession of a firearm while committing a drug offense, along with several other drug charges.
Scarlett was additionally charged with possession of a weapon by a certain person not to possess a firearm.

Richard Mallinson

Richard Mallinson was arrested in Absecon on March 23, after another task force investigation.
The Mount Holly man was found with more than five ounces of methamphetamine packaged for distribution, Shill said.
Mallinson, 55, is charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute more than five ounces of crystal meth and third-degree possession.
