A 35-year-old Egg Harbor Township man has been charged with possession of child pornography for the second time in five years.
William Roman Jr., 35, was arrested after an investigation sparked by a SnapChat referral, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Roman distributed images and videos of child sexual abuse, according to the investigation. He also was found with additional videos of child sexual exploitation.
He faces second-degree charges of possession and distribution, along with third-degree possession.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit was assisted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Egg Harbor Township police.
Roman was arrested on similar charges in 2017, court records show. He pleaded to a lesser charge and was sentenced to 364 days in the county jail.
He also was given a year probation for a computer crime in 2007, records show. No details about that crime were available.
