A former Mays Landing man was convicted of murder in the 2014 killing of a woman whose naked body was dumped on a roadside in Hamilton Township.
Timothy Wright, 42, was arrested in 2019, more than five years after Joyce Vanderhoff was found dead Feb. 14, 2014, along Weymouth Road.
The trip was made the night before police received the 9:51 a.m. call Feb. 14, 2014, saying a body had been found.
Wright now faces a minimum of 30 years in prison without parole when he is sentenced Dec. 6.
“The first thing I did was praise the Lord,” said Kathy Lydon, Vanderhoff’s grandmother. “Then I took the first deep breath I’ve taken in a long time.”
The Egg Harbor City woman has waited years for an answer to what happened to her granddaughter.
“It’s been a long, long road,” she said. “A long time coming.”
