A Vineland man faces 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to selling the drugs that killed an 18-year-old man two years ago.
Freddie Smith, 44, sold the teen the drugs at some point overnight into March 12, 2020, in the parking lot of a Wawa in Vineland, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
The teen, whose name was not released, was found dead early that morning on the couch of his family home.
It was determined he died of a mixture of fentanyl and cocaine.
Smith would have to serve at least 10 years and two months before he is eligible for parole. He would also have to serve five years of parole supervision upon his release.
Smith is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 9. He remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
