A WWE star was arrested in Atlantic City last month after a gun was found by a casino valet parking her vehicle.
Sonya Deville — whose real name is Daria Berenato — was arrested after police were called to the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa on Feb. 19, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said Wednesday.
The department apparently put out the information after TMZ broke the story earlier in the day.
Deville got the weapon for personal protection after a 24-year-old man allegedly attempted to kidnap her during a 2020 home break-in, the outlet said, citing sources.
When Atlantic City police arrived at the casino, they found Deville cooperating with security, according to the report.
She admitted to being the owner, and provided officers with her permit to carry, which is not valid in New Jersey.
Deville, who lives in Ogdensburg, Florida, was arrested without incident and released on a summons.
She is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
