Atlantic City man allegedly led Absecon police on chase in stolen vehicle

  • News

An Atlantic City man allegedly led police on a chase after stealing a car from a parking lot in Absecon.

Sirjackie Bryant III, 35, got into the vehicle while it was left briefly unattended by the owner who was patronizing a business on West California Avenue, police said.

Officers spotted the vehicle a short time later, but Bryant refused to stop, according to the charges.

After a brief chase, Bryant abandoned the vehicle on the White Horse Pike and led officers on a foot chase, police said.

He was caught and taken into custody without further incident.

Bryant is charged with motor vehicle theft, eluding and obstruction, along with motor vehicle violations.

He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
