Good Samaritan rescues driver from fiery Vineland crash

  • News

A Gloucester County man is in critical condition after a fiery crash that engulfed a Vineland business early Friday morning.

Brian Sheared, 44, was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup north on Delsea Drive when he went off the road for an unknown reason, Sgt. Nick Dounoulis said.

The pickup struck a guardrail and then re-entered the road, striking a traffic light at the West Garden Road intersection, according to the report.

He then crossed into AG Auto Group at 2332 N. Delsea, where the vehicle caught fire and engulfed the business, Dounoulis said.

A good Samaritan got Sheared out of the vehicle.

He was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

No charges have been filed at this time. There is an ongoing investigation led by Officer Anthony Capelli of the Traffic Safety Unit.
