An Atlantic City man who fired several shots nearly a year after a drug arrest pleaded guilty in both cases Thursday.
Hamid Palmer, now 23, faces 3½ years in prison under the plea agreement, which incorporates a 2021 drug arrest and a shooting last year.
No one was struck in the shooting.
Police were called to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 3, 2021, for the report of two men having an argument.
Palmer and Daniel Brown were fighting inside a vehicle they arrived in, police learned. Palmer bit Brown during the altercation.
While getting their information, police saw a clear, knotted plastic bag that later confirmed to be methamphetamine.
Both were then arrested.
Palmer was again arrested April 16, 2022, as part of an investigation into a dozen shots fired in the area of North Carolina and Adriatic avenues.
Palmer was seen walking in the area, and was found with a .38 special.
He has been jailed since then.
Palmer's sentencing is set for Aug. 10. He would have to serve the entire term under the plea agreement.
He remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
