  • News

A Buena Vista Township man was drunk and unlicensed when he ran after causing a head-on collision in Egg Harbor Township, police said.

Ryan Marsh, 33, was heading south on Idlewood Avenue at about 8:45 p.m., when he intentionally crossed into the opposite lane of travel, Lt. Mark Mensch said.

His 2014 Kia Sorento crashed head-on into a 2007 Nissan Murano driven by Angie Cruz of Egg Harbor Township, according to the report.

Marsh fled the scene but was apprehended a short distance away, Mensch said.

Cruz and her passenger sustained serious bodily injuries and were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment.

Marsh was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested.

He was charged with multiple motor vehicle summons, including driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident.

Marsh also was criminally charged with two counts of assault by auto, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, being involved in a motor vehicle crash with serious bodily injury while operating a vehicle on a suspended license and throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer.

He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The crash is being investigated by Officers Nathan Lahr and Viviana Lara. Anyone with information about the crash are asked to call Egg Harbor Township police at 609-926-2661.
