Camden man convicted after leaving gun in Atlantic City hotel room

  • News

A Camden man was convicted on several weapons offenses after he left a loaded gun in a hotel room.

Quadir Webb, 31, had stayed at the Claridge Hotel March 6, 2022.

After he and his girlfriend, Mariah Taylor, checked out around noon, a housekeeper found a loaded Glock 17 handgun in a nightstand drawer.

Hours later, Webb called asking to go back to Room 1219.

Webb did not have a permit and had a previous conviction that makes it illegal for him to possess a firearm.

When police arrived at the Claridge, Webb started to run, according to the charges.

An investigation found that Webb was the previous night's guest and no one else had accessed the room.

Taylor was acquitted.

Webb faces five to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced Oct. 4.

He remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
