Atlantic City man admits shooting man

  • News

An Atlantic City man pleaded guilty Monday to shooting a man last year.

Tajideen Austin, 30, was identified through surveillance video and witness statements in the July 23, 2022, attack in the 1400 block of Central Avenue.

The victim was found shot several times in his lower back and extremities.

Austin was stopped in driving a car, where police found a loaded handgun.

Ballistics analysis confirmed it was the gun used to shoot the victim.

Austin faces a 10-year sentence, under the plea agreement. He would have 5½ years of parole ineligibility.

Austin remains in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending his sentencing, scheduled for Oct. 23.
