Atlantic City man is year's fifth homicide victim

An Atlantic City man was fatally shot Saturday night.

Christian Hunter, 32, is the city's fifth homicide victim of the year.

Police were called to the 119 N. Virginia Ave. at about 7:19 p.m. by a ShotSpotter alert of multiple gunshots, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Hunter was found unresponsive on the sidewalk He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where he was pronounced dead.

He was shot in the neck, BreakingAC confirmed.

Hunter, who was known to many as "Chop" or "Choppy," was mourned by many on social media Sunday.

The official cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.

The incident is being investigated by the Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City police.
