EHT crash closes English Creek Avenue for about an hour

  • News
Egg Harbor Township police are investigating a fiery crash that detoured traffic for about an hour at English Creek Avenue in the township's Cardiff section. Police were called to the area near West Jersey Avenue just after noon, police said. Blake Sizer, 25, of Clayton, was traveling north when the 2009 Ford F350 dump truck he was driving went into the shoulder, turned back onto the roadway and then lost control, according to the report. The truck sideswiped a 2010 Ford Expedition driven by Thomas Carrieri Jr., 65, of Egg Harbor Township, who was heading south. The dump truck rolled several times, causing the impacted topsoil to strike a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by Kathleen Klose, 68, also of the township. Sizer and his passenger were hurt but refused treatment, police said. Carrieri's passenger, 58-year-old Gerrardette Carrieri, suffered an arm injury and was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Mainland Campus in Galloway Township for treatment. The crash is being investigated by Officer Kevin Devlin.
