Man wanted in killing of Atlantic City woman

  • News

The former boyfriend of a woman killed in Atlantic City earlier this week is now wanted for murder.
Jacqueline Hoyle, 24, was found dead of a single gunshot wound inside her home on the 300 block of North Tennessee Avenue just before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Now, Joseph McCoy, 43, is wanted on charges of murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
An autopsy was performed two days later and, as a result of the investigation, McCoy was charged that day, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said. But her office did not release the information until Saturday.

This photo of Joseph McCoy was posted by his then-girlfriend Jacqueline Hoyle. He is now wanted in her killing.

Soon after his sister's death, Greg Hoyle posted McCoy's pictures on Facebook saying "this is the coward that took my sister from us."
When asked about the post at the time, the Prosecutor's Office said it was aware but was not commenting.
McCoy's Blood name is Savage Salaam, according to Hoyle's post. It also is the name on McCoy's Facebook page.
One of the photos Hoyle posted is actually one his sister posted to her Facebook page on July 11, of her then-boyfriend.
"He finally let me do his hair," she wrote, tagging a friend.
Anyone with information about McCoy's whereabouts should call Major Crimes at 609-909-7666 or Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411) beginning the text with ACPD.
