A 71-year-old woman and her great-granddaughter who went missing on a Christmas trip from Mays Landing to North Carolina have been found alive.
A farmer in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, found the missing pair still in their vehicle on his property shortly before 5 p.m., according to Virginia State Police.
Barbara Briley and 5-year-old La'Myra Briley left Mays Landing on Christmas Eve, heading to Morven, North Carolina.
They were last seen at an Exxon gas station in Ruther Glen, Virginia, and appeared to be in good health, police said at the time.
Both were found still seated in the silver Toyota RAV4 parked on private property at least a mile from the road.
Briley was unconscious but La'Myra was alert and appeared unharmed, police said.
The little girl was taken for medical evaluation while her great-grandmother was flown to VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.
Local family members have traveled to Virginia to see them.
