Investigators spent Saturday morning on the scene of a homicide. The body of Ricky Ward was found in a trash can on the 1200 block of Arctic Avenue. An Atlantic City man has been charged with murder after a man was found dead inside a trash can Saturday morning. Investigators spent most of Saturday morning at a scene where the body of Ricky Ward, 52, was found in a trash can in the 1200 block of Adriatic Avenue, between North and South Carolina avenues at about 8:45 a.m. Thomas Green, 64, of the 1300 block of Adriatic Avenue, was charged with murder and arrested at 5:15 p.m., after an investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department, acting county Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said late Saturday night. Green is accused of killing Ward by hitting him in the head multiple times with stones. He is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $1 million full cash bail. Investigators apparently looked through video surveillance of the area. George's Grill to Chill was closed to the public as detectives and uniformed officers gathered inside. There are cameras that cover that area, including the backside of the county building. Forensics detectives looked through the trash can. After hours combing through the area, detectives lined up with sheets to cover the view as they attempted to move the body into a van for transport. The man's body was partially visible as they removed him from the trash can, his legs still bent, work boots on his feet. Ruberton gave no motive for the killing, and did not say whether the men knew each other.
