A Mullica Township man charged with manslaughter in the 2014 fatal shooting of his wife was indicted this week for murder.
Lynn DeRosa, 57, was found dead inside the Pleasant Mills Road home she and her husband shared on May 26, 2014, after police were called to the home by neighbors who heard Sergio DeRosa call for help.
An autopsy found the woman died of a shotgun wound to the head and ruled it a homicide.
Sergio DeRosa was arrested and charged with reckless manslaughter.
DeRosa, who has been free on bail, was supposed to go to trial Sept. 26, but that was postponed. The next day, a grand jury indicted him for murder.
Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton did not give a reason for the upgrade.
DeRosa turned himself in and is now free on $150,000 bail, with the stipulation that he may not leave the state. He also must wear a GPS monitoring device.
