EHT man indicted in deadly attack on couple inside their Pleasantville home

  • News
An Egg Harbor Township man was indicted this week for murder and attempted murder in a brutal attack on a couple inside their Pleasantville home. Jahlil Hunter and Ebony Harris were found inside their Greenfield Avenue home "bleeding and suffering from significant physical trauma" at about 9:30 p.m. two days before Christmas. Hunter, 30, died of his injuries. An autopsy showed he died of multiple blunt-force injuries. Harris, 22, survived. No motive for the attack was ever released. The couple had a then-1-year-old daughter together, but she was not living with her parents. Nicholas Abbati, 27, was arrested Jan. 22, after a month-long investigation. He has been in the Monmouth County jail an unrelated matter. His bail is set at $1 million.
