EHT man arrested in five Pleasantville burglaries

An Egg Harbor Township man is free on an ankle bracelet after being charged with burglarizing four Pleasantville businesses and a private residence. Jesus Cotto, 22, is charged with 17 counts, including burglary, theft, criminal mischief and arson, Capt. Matt Hartman said. Detective James Searle spearheaded the investigation assisted by Detective Pablo Solorzano and Detective Sgt. Mark Porter, Hartman said. Cotto is accused of burglarizing a home on Fernwood Avenue, along with the Asian Market, Dollar General and businesses on North and South Main Street, according to the charges. He was arrested after K-9 Patrolman Matt Laielli saw Cotto, who was taken in by Laielli's partner, Chewbacca, and Patrolman Jeffrey Vanegas.
