Pleasantville man charged with DWI after crashing in Atlantic City

For the second time in two days driving under the influence caused multiple crashes in Atlantic City, according to police. A Pleasantville man crashed into the lobby of the EconoLodge at Morris and Pacific avenues just after 5 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. No one was injured. Jorge Parada, 22, of Pleasantville, initially fled the scene, but returned, according to the report. Officer Joseph Bereheiko investigated the incident and found that Parada first struck a vehicle after going through a red light at Texas and Pacific avenues. He then lost control at Morris Avenue, striking a traffic light pole and control box before crashing into the lobby. Parada was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was additionally charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, failure to obey a traffic signal and being an unlicensed driver. He was released with a future court date.
