Pedestrian struck by bus in Pleasantville

An Atlantic City woman suffered a head injury after she was struck by the bike rack of a bus as she crossed a Pleasantville street Tuesday night. Elizabeth McAllister, 52,was found in the roadway of West Jersey Avenue near Main Street at about 8:50 p.m., Capt. Matt Hartman said. The bus' bike rack — which was lowered with a bike mounted on it — had struck her. She was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where she remained Wednesday in critical condition. The bus driver was identified as Isaiah Caldwell, 34, of Galloway Township. The crash is under investigation by the Pleasantville Police Department. No summonses have been issued at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 609-641-6100.
