Galloway man arrested in car with gun and toddler daughter

  • News
A Galloway Township man found with a gun in car near his toddler daughter was arrested by Pleasantville police during a car stop Wednesday. Patrolmen Girard Tell and Ryan VanSyckle stopped the car at the Exxon Gas Station on West Black Horse Pike at 5:51 p.m. Both the 24-year-old driver, Tichana Holloway, also of Galloway, and her passenger, Jamil Jenkins, 23, had warrants, Capt. Matt Hartman said. As the officers were searching Jenkins, they found a bullet, according to the report. A loaded Colt 1911 .45-caliber handgun with a large capacity extended magazine and a box of 50 additional rounds were found on the rear passenger floor, where Jenkins had been sitting. Next to that seat was a small child in a car seat. Jenkins was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of prohibited device (the large-capacity magazine), possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and unlawful possession of handgun ammunition. Jenkins was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing. Holloway, the girl's mother, was taken into custody on the warrant, Hartman said. But the jail did not have her in the system. A family member took the little girl, Hartman said.
