A pedestrian died after she was struck by a car in Galloway Township on Monday night.
Elizabeth Thompson and another woman were walking in the are of Aloe Street and New Orleans Avenue when the unnamed woman fell in the roadway for an unknown reason, police said.
Lynn Stradtmueller, who was driving east on Aloe Street, struck Thompson and the other woman, according to the report.
The woman who had fallen was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not releasing her name pending notification of next of kin.
Thompson, 27, of Egg Harbor City, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
Stradtmueller was wearing her seat belt at the time of the incident. She was not injured.
