Two teens have been arrested in an after-hours shooting on school grounds.
One of the teens was on home detention with an ankle monitor at the time, police said.
Officers responded to the Uptown School Complex on Feb. 3, and found evidence that a gun had been fired, Sgt. Kevin Fair said, adding that school was not in session at the time.
There were no victims.
After a preliminary investigation, the case was turned over to the city's Violent Crimes Unit.
Detectives arrested a 16-year-old city boy at his residence, where he was on a monitoring bracelet.
The next day, Darren Nedrick, 19, also of Atlantic City, was arrested at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino.
They are each charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon on the grounds of an educational institution, and conspiracy.
The juvenile was sent to the Harborfields Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City.
Nedrick was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
