The local pizza owners who admitted to tax evasion are finally expected to be sentenced Friday, after six postponements and nearly 20 months after pleading guilty.
Charles and Mary Bangle told federal agents tht they deported more cash in their personal account than they reported as payroll on their tax forms.
Charles Bangle failed to report $263,113 in income, avoiding paying more than $90,000 in taxes, the U.S. attorney said at the time.
Mary Bangle admitted to lying to agents and is not expected to get prison time.
The couple pleaded guilty in July 2015, and were first scheduled for sentencing four months later. But postponements kept following, including one set for January that was pushed off at the judge's request, according to the court.
In that time, the couple has celebrated the business' 60th anniversary and prepared for the opening of a new store on Ninth Street.
