An Atlantic City man accused of
sending sexual images to children in eight states pleaded guilty Tuesday to first degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Sherman Miller, 49, will be sentenced to 12 years in prison under the plea agreement.
He was already a convicted sex offender when he was arrested last year for sending sexually explicit images of himself from Atlantic City to a juvenile victim in Texas, acting Atlantic Couny Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said.
As the investigation continued, it was found that Miller had sent photos electronically to more children in an additional seven states: Michigan, Georgia, Massachusetts, California, Missouri, Mississippi and South Carolina.
Miller allegedly sent the children — who ranged in age from 9 to 12 years old — pictures of his penis and videos him gratifying himself.
He even convinced one of the children to send him video back.
Miller was indicted last month on charges including endangering the welfare of a child, possession or viewing of a pornographic image depicting the exploitation or abuse of a child and failing to register as a sex offender.
He is scheduled to be sentenced May 12 before Superior Court Judge Patricia Wild.
