Atlantic City man arrested in October shooting that wounded teen

  • News
An 18-year-old man has been arrested for shooting at three juveniles in October, injuring one. Officers found a 17-year-old boy wounded at about 1:50 a.m. Oct. 12, after being called to the 1300 block of Caspian Avenue for reports of a man down. The city's ShotSpotter audio gunshot-detection system also was activated. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for an injury that was not life-threatening. Two other juveniles were shot at but not wounded, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. The suspect was arrested after an investigation by Detective Innocenzo Visceglia and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit. Because he was 17 at the time of the shooting, he was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center in Egg Harbor City and his name is not being released. He is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful disposition/transportation of a handgun. Anyone with information about this or any other shooting is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 609-347-5788. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411) beginning the text with ACPD.
