An Atlantic City man was arrested Tuesday after he was found with a gun in his backpack.
Officers Joseph Donatucci and Jeffrey Profitt responded to Massachusetts and Atlantic avenues at 10:11 p.m. for a report of shots fired, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The officers found Lavawn Harris walking a dog a block from the call, according to the report.
Officer Anthony Abrams found a loaded gun in Harris' backpack, and he was arrested.
Harris, 31, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of hollow-point ammunition and possession of a weapon by a convicted person.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
