Patients of a jailed Egg Harbor Township doctor met packed parking and a long line at his office Friday, the last day they could pick up their files.
Dr. James Kauffman has been jailed since June 13, when he pulled a gun and threatened to shoot himself when investigators came to his office with a search warrant in an ongoing health fraud case.

Judge Bernard DeLury ordered Kauffman detained pending trial, following a hearing in which body camera footage of the incident was shown in court.
Some patient files had been taken to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Most of those have been copied and returned to the patient.
But Friday was the last day the office would be open to give patients back their files.
Kauffman's arrest came just about two weeks after he was in court as the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office tried to compel him to give a DNA sample in the investigation into his wife's death five years ago. Local radio host and veterans' advocate April Kauffman was fatally shot inside the bedroom of the couple's Linwood home May 10, 2012.
Kauffman has not been named a suspect in that case, but remains in a civil fight with his former stepdaughter over life insurance. The civil suit — first brought by the insurance company — says Kauffman should not be entitled to the money unless there is proof he was not involved in his wife's death.
