A Folsom man admitted to having a sexual relationship with a female student at Buena Regional High School.
William Jacobs, 33, pleaded guilty to official misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child in his relationship with the 17-year-old girl, who was a student at the school.
Jacobs is expected to be sentenced to five years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 8, before Judge Michael Blee. He would have to serve two years before he is eligible for parole under the plea agreement.
He also faces a five-year sentence for the endangering charge. That would run concurrent and has no minimum.
There were several hundred electronic messages between Jacobs and the unnamed teen.
The teacher allegedly urged the girl not to cooperate with police when he learned of the investigation.
He has been free since March 9, following a detention hearing during which Blee allowed his release.
As part of the plea agreement, he must forfeit public employment.
