Atlantic City police arrested a Gloucester County man who allegedly fired a gun early Wednesday morning.
The ShotSpotter audio gunshot-detection system alerted police to the 3100 block of Fairmont Avenue at 4:35 a.m., Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
A 55-year-old city resident told police he was driving down the street when a man shot at his car, striking it several times, according to the report.
There was damage to the car and evidence in the street that shots had been fired.
An investigation by officers and Detective Dembe Baake led to Colton Seldon being identified as the shooter.
He was found by Officer Fitzroy Simpson a block away from the scene, and was arrested, Fair said. He did not have the gun at the time, and it has not been located.
Seldon, 30, of Glassboro, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
