A convicted Megan’s Law offender from Atlantic City was in federal court Friday on child pornography charges.
Keith Clark, 41, is accused of receiving and downloading more than 3,500 images of child pornography, including infants and toddlers being sexually abused, including acting U.S. Attorney William Fitzpatrick said.
Clack has a prior conviction for sexual assault on a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor. According to his Megan's Law page, the aggravated sexual assault charge was from 1999, and it indicates that "on repeated occasions, offender assaulted young female acquaintance."
Because of the previous conviction, he faces a 15-year mandatory minimum term of imprisonment and a maximum potential sentence of 40 years in prison, if convicted.
That’s an increase from the five-year mandatory minimum and 20 years’ maximum the charge normally carries.
He was ordered held.
