A Pleasantville man was arrested after he led police on a chase after allegedly threatening someone with a gun Thursday evening.
Patrolman Miracle Mays and acting Sgt. David Aristizabal responded to Atlantic Fuel and found a victim who said that a man in a black Dodge Charger threatened him with a gun, Capt. Matt Hartman said.
Absecon police then saw the car heading east on California Avenue, and Officer Mark Williams started to follow it south on Main Street, according to the report.
Williams tried to stop the car, but the driver fled west on Leeds Avenue, then south on Linden Avenue, where he struck a utility pole and curb.
The driver, later identified as Johnathon Cade, 30, of Pleasantville, then ran from the vehicle and headed east between house on Main Street, Hartman said.
Mays saw Cade running across Main into Ye Ol Washaus Laundromat at the corner of Atlantic, according to the police report.
Absecon officers helped set up a perimeter and Mays found Cade hiding in the bathroom, Hartman said.
Inside his vehicle they found 1.54 pounds of marijuana, he said. No gun was found.
Cade was charged with resisting arrest by flight, eluding police in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession with intent to distribute.
He was released on a summons.
