An Egg Harbor Township man pleaded guilty this week to attempted murder and other crimes connected to a 2013 home invasion of a 92-year-old man who was stabbed in the attack.
Police arrived at Charles Sweetman's home at Tower East Mobile Home Park just before 9 a.m. Dec. 17, 2013, to find the elderly man suffering from stab wounds, and his car stolen.
Robert Bilhardt, who lived in the same park, was arrested later that day and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, armed burglary, burglary while attempting to cause bodily injury, aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, motor vehicle theft, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Bilhardt, now 29, pleaded guilty to all 10 counts Wednesday.
His prison term will be at Judge John Rauh's discretion when Bilhardt is sentenced May 5.
