Tip leads to man selling heroin outside Atlantic City health care center

An Atlantic City man was arrested Tuesday, after police got a tip that he was dealing heroin outside the AtlantiCare Healthplex. Someone called 911, telling police a man was selling drugs and gave a description of the suspect, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. Officers Anthony Abrams and Darrell Catanio were able to quickly find the man outside the center on the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue,  just before 5 p.m. Dana Gibbs, 52, had 92 bags of heroin, Fair said. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone. He was released on a summons. Anyone with information about drug activity is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5858. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411) beginning the text with ACPD.
