An Atlantic City man was arrested with a loaded gun in a stolen car, police said.
Officers Michael Peters and James Andros IV saw a Dodge Caravan that had been reported stolen Saturday, when the owner thought he was turning it over to a valet at the Wyndham Hotel, according to the report. The man then sped off.
While driving in the area of Tennessee and Atlantic avenues at about 7 a.m. Sunday, the officers recognized the minivan, and pulled it over, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
They arrested the driver, Steven Jacobs, 35.
The officers also found a loaded handgun on the floorboard of Jacobs' seat, Fair said.
He is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and theft of movable property.
He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
