A Lower Township man was issued his second drunken-driving charge in a week Monday. Lower Township police were called to a one-car crash in the 700 block of Tabernacle Road on Monday night, police said. There, they found that Jason Poole, 39, of the township's North Cape May section, had run off of the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to the report. Poole was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving. He previously was charged with DWI on Oct. 31, in North Cape May. Poole was released on the charges, which is in accordance with both departmental procedures and N.J. Attorney General Guidelines, policed noted. This incident is under investigation by Officer Jennifer Anzelone. The Erma Fire Department and the Lower Township Rescue Squad assisted.
