A man and woman were arrested Sunday after allegedly robbing an acquaintance.
Officers Eric Evans and Kevin Dever were called to a hotel room at Bally’s Hotel and Casino at about 9:50 p.m. for a robbery.
The 48-year-old man from Binghamton, NY, told the officers he was assaulted, threatened with a screwdriver and robbed of $600 and personal belongings, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was treated at the scene for his injuries.
An investigation by the officers, Detective Dembe Baako and Bally’s security led to identifying the suspects as Christopher McAfee, 35, of Atlantic City, and Ashley Rose, 31, of West Creek, Fair said.
The pair were arrested at the Rodeway Inn on the beach block of North Carolina Avenue.
They had the victim’s belongings at the time of their arrests, Fair said.
They are charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and conspiracy.
Both were taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
