Atlantic City man arrested after allegedly pointing gun at girlfriend

An Atlantic City man was arrested after he allegedly brandished a gun at his girlfriend Saturday night. Police responded to the 500 block of Kentucky Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. for the report of a man pointing a gun at a woman, Sgt. Kevin Fair said. An investigation by Officers Eric Evans and Kevin Perez determined David Johnson had pointed a handgun at his 27-year-old girlfriend during a dispute. Police found the gun during a search of the home, Fair said. Johnson, 30, was arrested without incident. He is charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of hollow-point ammunition and possession of a weapon by a convicted certain person. He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
