Ventnor man arrested after allegedly stealing boots from Sears

A Ventnor man allegedly stole a pair of boots, then assaulted a store security worker and swallowed some drugs while fleeing, according to police. Hamilton Township police were called to the Sears at Hamilton Mall just before 6 p.m. Wednesday during abefore he wasOn November 22, 2017 at approximately 5:55PM, the Township of Hamilton. Michael Donnally, 39, had allegedly stolen a pair of boots, and ran. He assaulted a loss prevention associate while trying to get away, according to the report. Sgt. Wade Smith chased Donnally through the mall and into the parking lot, where he was arrested, police said. Donnally also was taken to the hospital after it was discovered that he ingested an unnamed drug during the chase. He is charged with shoplifting, robbery, tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had outstanding warrants. Donnally was turned over to the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office at the hospital pending transfer to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
