Former Galloway Recreation employee admits stealing thousands in summer camp fees

  • News
A former Galloway Township Recreation Department employee has admitted to stealing nearly $7,000 in summer camp fees. Jennifer Diluzio, 36, pleaded guilty Thursday to an accusation of third-degree theft. Under a plea agreement, she faces probation when she is sentenced before Superior Court Judge John Rauh on Jan. 5. She also must pay $6,957 in restitution and has forfeited any public employment. Part of DiLuzio's job was to process applications and collect fees for residents that were sending their children to the 2017 Township Summer Camp. But from March to June of this year, Diluzio took the fees for herself rather than putting them into the proper fun, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner said. She was arrested following a joint investigation by the Galloway Township Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Official Corruption Unit.
